Untitled (Dual-Task Function) / 2024

This short essay investigates several studies which found physical movement in the form of dual-task functioning, such as choreographed or mirrored dance, to be more effective in mitigating symptoms of depression and anxiety than pharmaceuticals (SSRIs). It uses testimonies, interviews, graphics, charts, and 3D scans of dancers to explore the possibilities of unconventional psychological intervention. It is set to the tune of Naoki’s 1998, featured in an edition of the dance-based video game Dance Dance Revolution.
